High School, Walpole, MA
Norfolk Agricultural High School offers a unique agricultural science vocational and academic program to 550 student from 28 communities on a 200-plus acre working farm in Walpole, MA. Continuing on a Master Plan completed in 2006, Turowski2 Architecture was commissioned to design improvements for this unique campus with a fixed budget of $28.5 M total project cost. Through an 8 Week feasibility study phase, T2 helped the district establish priorities that could be met within the budget.

A new 32,600 SF Animal Science/Classroom Building

A new 29,300 SF Agricultural Mechanical Shop/Classroom Building

A new 14,600 SF Equine Center (pre-engineered structure)

A new 2,400 SF Equipment Storage Building (pre-engineered structure)

Renovation and re-purpose of the existing Animal Science Building to academic classrooms

Renovation and re-purpose of the 1923 Agricultural Mechanic Building to administration offices and academic classrooms

Site related infrastructure and improvements, including a new entrance and drop off loop.
The project was constructed in 3 phases in order to keep all of the school programs fully functional during each phase of construction.
The project was designed to meet the Massachusetts Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS 2006).
